Would it be possible to add a feature that sends an automatic email to teachers who forget to take the register. This could be customised to choose a time period after the class or only for AM registrations, for example.
Hello all, lots of comments here, so I thought I would add some context and explanation. First, and most importantly, we are looking at adding this feature as soon as we can and finding a spot in our development road map to accommodate it. I will drop an update here as soon as we know when we can do this. Eventually, we would look to provide expanded functionality with push notifications in the new iSAMS app that will release later next year, but for now, we hear you - an email notification is really useful :-)
More generally, this iteration of the ideas portal was launched last year and is directly connected to our product planning and engineering tools. Before this, I think it was a valid criticism that often ideas were often left to 'die'. However, we really do follow up on every idea here, and I'd really encourage you to continue to add them - you may not always get the response you want, but we are open and honest about what we can and will develop. There are several thousand ideas on the portal and with a team of 10, it sometimes takes a little time to respond. iSAMS is a truly huge system, with 54 modules and growing, but we are very actively investing, developing and releasing new tools and the team behind it are really passionate about continuing to improve the platform.
We try to keep our community updated as much as possible and if there is more we can do, I am keen to know.
If you do have suggestions, please do reach out to me directly: nicholas.clark@iris.co.uk and I would be happy to discuss on a call.
We used some of our allowance of the premium package to set this up and the teachers now get a reminder to complete their registers if they haven't completed within a certain time period of the lesson start so it should be possible for all.
I found this idea as it came up in first place from 1872 ideas when I sort by Popular. At the time I write this, It has 113 votes, including mine.
This idea was written 5 years ago. It exists as 5 other Ideas that have been merged with this one - the latest was created 8 days ago. And yet there is no feedback here from iSAMS, nor sign of implementation. What does that mean? Should we even be writing ideas here if nothing will happen?
A pop up reminder to staff to take their register after 5 minutes of lesson starting, and then again after 10 minutes if still not done. This would really help our admin team who are constantly chasing staff to take their register for safeguarding...
Email Notification for Class Teacher/Form Tutot for missed attendance registers.

It will be nice to have a email notification option for teacher who have not completed their daily attendance register. It will be nice to have an auto generated email sent to those teaching staff when registration time ends, with a student list s...
This will be useful specially for the teachers and head of the departments where the teachers are unable to take registration or forgotten to take registration for the certain students. There is an option in iTeacher app where you will get a notif...
Our attendance officer sends about 100 emails a day to staff who have forgotten to do a register. Is this something that could be automated through isams in principle?
Merged
This would save a lot of time for the attendance officer who currently has to identify sets that have not been registered and then chase the teacher responsible.

100% agree, this is a long overdue development that would improve the registration process exponentially

Any update on this idea as it seems to be long overdue.
This function is very crucial to make sure attendance is taken daily on time without having office chasing the teachers to do so daily.
