We have been sent a Unique Learner Number (ULN) for a pupil joining Year 9. We are obliged to pass on this number if he later leaves to go to another state school so it needs to be stored on iSAMS now. But that would require him to be made into an exam candidate, which we don't want to do now.
This field needs to be accessible through the Student Manager module, starting from when they are applicants. Many schools send CTFs in the summer term and we need to be able to process all the details straight away. It isn't practical to store this number away somewhere outside of iSAMS until the student is going to be entered for an external exam.
